Build a strong base in the two highest-yield areas. Focus on Cardiology (ACS, ECG, arrhythmias) and Psychiatry basics (depression, psychosis, anxiety). These are commonly tested and form the backbone of clinical reasoning.
Expand into Respiratory (asthma, COPD, pneumonia, PE) and GI (cirrhosis, IBD, acute abdomen). Start connecting concepts across systems — many AMC questions require multi-system reasoning.
Cover remaining Medicine topics: Endocrine, Renal, Neurology, Haematology, Emergency Medicine, and Palliative Care. Begin reviewing March Recall questions — approximately 50% of AMC questions are derived from previous exams.
Dedicate focused time to Surgery (acute abdomen, trauma, vascular, peri-operative) and OBGYN (prenatal care, labour, high-risk pregnancy, gynaecology). These are distinct clinical domains requiring specific knowledge.
Cover Paediatrics (neonatal, immunisations, emergencies) and Population Health & Ethics (screening, consent, capacity, Aboriginal health). Memorise the Australian Immunisation Schedule completely.
Review your performance analytics to identify your weakest areas. Dedicate this entire week to targeted revision of topics where your accuracy is below 60%. Use the error log from previous mock exams to guide your focus.
Complete two full-length mock exams under strict exam conditions (150 questions, 3.5 hours, no breaks). Review all incorrect answers. Focus on exam technique: time management, elimination strategy, and managing exam anxiety.
Spend 67% of your time on content review and 33% on MCQ practice. As you progress, shift towards more MCQ practice.
Medicine and Surgery = 50% of the exam. If you are short on time, prioritise these two disciplines above all others.
Use the analytics dashboard after each mock exam to identify topics where your accuracy is below 60%, then target those in Week 11.
For mock exams, use strict timing (84 seconds per question), no breaks, and no reference materials. Build exam stamina early.
